Megan Anna Rapinoe was born on July 5 1985 in Redding California. She first began playing soccer from a very early age, and honed her skills throughout her teenage years. After that, she went to her first University of Portland in Oregon along with her twin sister fraternal Rachael Rapinoe. Megan Rapinoe became a soccer superstar for the Portland State University becoming one of collegiate women's soccer's most prolific performers. Her team had to take a break from soccer during her junior year and sophomore years due to injuries to her knee. In her junior year, she played soccer again full-time and was able to win every game. Rapinoe scored two goals when the United States beat Australia 4-3 in the bronze medal match in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Japan had been prevented from attending the Olympics until 2021 because of COVID-19, a pandemic.
